Body Found at Lampe Park in Gardnerville

A 24 year old Gardnerville, NV resident was found kneeling face down in a creek at Lampe Park on Monday morning. He has been identified at William Murphey Sheerin.
At 8:21 am, Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a body found by Park Rangers. Sheerin's cause of death is suspected as drowning, however final cause will not be determined until after the autopsy and toxicology reports have been completed.
During the investigation, receipts found from a local store show that Sheerin purchased some alcohol and cigarettes last night. It is unknown how Sheerin arrived at the park. No obvious trauma was located and no foul play is suspected at this time.
Anyone who may have had contact with Sheerin in the last 48 hours is encouraged to contact the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Investigation Division as 775-782-9905.
