SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The man responsible for changing the way the City of South Lake Tahoe communicates with the media and public has submitted his resignation.
Chris Fiore, the City’s communication manager, is leaving April 1 after being appointed to a position at the Louisiana Workforce Commission.
Fiore helped the City take communications to a new level, improving its social media presence, selecting a new logo, revamping Channel 21, and helping to redesign the website. He took on many projects, including video and voice recorded broadcasts of City news, and tackled informing the public about Measure S.
“Chris has been instrumental in helping to make this City more transparent, and a better place to live, visit, and work,” said City Manager Joe Irvin, “He was so much more than a Communications Manager and we will miss him.”
Fiore helped to bring City Council meetings live to Facebook, worked with a team to plan the 4th of July parade, and worked to provide essential evacuation information to people in Tahoe.
“I have never been prouder to be a part of team that comes to work every day to change peoples lives for the better,” said Fiore, “This is an incredible team and I know there are great things in store for South Lake Tahoe.”
