COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County is reporting 34 more residents have tested positive for COVID-19 since Friday: -1 from Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, 3 in El Dorado Hills, 1 in Diamond Springs/El Dorado, 0 in North County, 7 in Greater Placerville, 8 in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, 0 in South County, 16 in Lake Tahoe region. Awaiting address confirmation from today's count: 2. Total now awaiting address confirmation: 112.

Of those new cases, 7 are under the age of 18, 20 are age 18-49, 6 are aged 50-64, and 1 aged 65 or older. Awaiting age confirmation from today's county: 1. Total birthdate unknown to date: 12.

There have been another 26 assumed recoveries with 320 assumed active cases.

There have been an additional 1,400 negative results received.

There are currently 2 COVID-19 patients hospitalized with 1 of them in the ICU. As of today, Barton has no patients hospitalized with COVID-19; 3 hospitalized due to COVID-19 at Marshall with 0 of them in the ICU. There are 0 suspected COVID-positive patient in the ICU at Barton. Also according to the State website, Barton has 3 available ICU beds, Marshall 2.

There have been no additional death, the total for El Dorado County residents dying from COVID-19 is 107.

With respect to the tier assignment measures:

Adjusted case rate: 3.0
Positivity rate: 2.0%
Health equity quartile positivity rate: 1.9%

The county moved to the Red Tier, effective 3/3/21. To move down to the Orange/Moderate Tier, the above numbers need to fall into the ranges below:

· Adjusted case rate of 1.0 – 3.9
· Positivity rate of 2.0-4.9%
· Health equity quartile positivity rate of 2.2-5.2%

Counties must remain in a tier for at least three weeks before moving to a less restrictive tier. Counties must meet the next tier’s criteria for two consecutive weeks to move to a less restrictive tier.

Quad-County COVID-19 Update: Weekend Update and Daily Update

Saturday (3/20/2021)
There were 21 new cases and 52 additional recoveries in the Quad-County Region. This brought the total number of cases to 11,570, with 10,117 recoveries and 212 deaths; 1,241 cases remained active.

Sunday (3/21/2021)
There was an additional death due to COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region. The individual was a male Carson City resident in his 70’s. There were also 4 new cases and 61 additional recoveries in the Quad-County Region. This brought the total number of cases to 11,574, with 10,178 recoveries and 213 deaths; 1,183 cases remained active.

Monday (3/22/2021)
Today we are reporting an additional death due to COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region. The individual was a female Lyon County resident in her 90’s. We also reporting 16 new cases and 48 additional recoveries. The weekend numbers and today’s numbers bring the total number of cases to 11,590, with 10,226 recoveries and 214 deaths; 1,150 cases remain active.
