Small fire at Stateline appears to be intentionally set

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A call was received by 911 dispatchers around 10:00 a.m. Friday about a possible structure fire near the intersection of Stateline and Cedar Avenues in the Stateline area of South Lake Tahoe.

Upon arrival, South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue (SLTFR) found a large pile of paper burning against some debris at the site of The Chateau at the Village parking area.

SLTFR Battalion Chief Jim Drennan said the cause of the fire is unknown and their investigation is complete. The paper ignited in a random site is suspicious. Drennan said it does not look like a homeless warming fire.

There was no damage except to the burned debris.
