Kudos: Vail’s Kirkwood Mountain Resort sponsors Bread & Broth dinner

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Thanks to Vail’s EpicPromise Grant, Kirkwood Mountain Resort was the Adopt A Day sponsor for Bread & Broth’s (B&B) Monday Meal served at St. Theresa’s Grace Hall on March 20. It was great to have the enthusiastic and fun Kirkwood team members Dan Deemer, Em Dumond, Justin Hartwell, Jarret Morgan, and Gordon Vizenor volunteering alongside the Bread & Broth volunteers to serve 82 community members a tasty Mexican-themed dinner.

Normally, the Kirkwood team members are out on Kirkwood Mountain making sure that the resort guests are having a great time on the mountain which this year has involved a whole lot of snow shoveling. For their three hours at the Monday Meal, the Kirkwood Adopt a Day (AAD) sponsor crew members dug in to help welcome and warmly serve the guests at the Monday Meal.

“Given what this winter has looked like for Tahoe, community is as important as ever,” shared Dan as he took a break from serving at the dessert and drink table. “As we manage to literally dig our way through this collective hardship, Bread & Broth offers a safe and hospitable place for our community to come together, share a meal, and dream of spring sunshine on our faces.”

Both volunteering and enjoying a meal at a B&B dinner makes people happy and feeds their souls. Knowing that you are connecting with your fellow neighbors is heartwarming and helps everyone. B&B is very thankful to all of the Vail team members who over the years have served as AAD crew members and who have brought a sense of giving that always makes them special to the B&B volunteers.
