Lake Wind Advisory in place for Lake Tahoe until Tuesday evening

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - There is Lake Wind Advisory in effect for the Lake Tahoe Basin until 5:00 p.m. Tuesday. Expect winds from the east 20-30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

Waves will be 2-5 feet.

Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone to capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions improve.

Precautions - Check lake conditions before heading out and be prepared for a sudden increase in winds and wave heights. Consider postponing boating activities on the lake until a day with less wind.

The high temperature Tuesday will be almost ten degrees cooler than Monday. The high is forecast to be 48 degrees, and the low 20. Temperatures head back up above average on Wednesday with a high of 58 and low of 28.
