Gaming Control Board: Nevada casino win up 44% from 2021; South Shore only region with a drop

Nevada’s non-restricted gaming licensees reported a total “gaming win” of $1,113,148,010 for the month of February 2022, a gain of 44.10 percent over the same period in 2021. The South Shore Lake Tahoe casino's win was down 3.93 percent over the same period with their gaming revenue of $19,672,671, according to the State's monthly gaming revenue report. This was the second consecutive month for the South Shore to be down slightly from the previous year's figures and was the only region in the state to see a decrease in the win.

For the fiscal year (July 1, 2021 through February 28, 2022), gaming win has increased 56.03 percent.

Last month's report showed over $17.07M in gaming revenue on the South Shore and $1.08M for the state of Nevada.

Another strong showing on the Las Vegas Strip put the state up by such a high percentage. Revenues at casinos on the strip were up 71.94 percent over last year with their 599,131,328 in "win".

North Lake Tahoe casinos saw a 4.15 percent gain in the "win" with their reported $2,156,005.

The "gaming win" represents the computed income of casinos before business expenses and taxes.

Carson City and the Carson Valley's win was $10,959,943, up 17.17 percent from February 2020.

Meanwhile, casinos in Reno, Sparks, and other areas of Washoe County also saw gaming-related revenue in the positive, with Sparks up 7.78 percent, Reno, 22.13 percent, and the county as a whole, 18.62 percent.

The State has collected $ 711,320,941 in percentage fees to date for the fiscal year which began July 1.
