Lake Wind Advisory to start off the week in South Lake Tahoe; High of 72 by Friday

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A Lake Wind Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno for Monday, April 4 from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. West winds are expected from 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. Waves on Lake Tahoe are from 2 to 4 feet.

There will be mild temperatures to start off the week, according to NWS Reno. Any rain chances will be limited to far northern areas towards the Oregon border. Much warmer temperatures are expected on Thursday and Friday with a tie of record high temperatures possible, then cooling over next weekend.

The South Lake Tahoe forecast from NWS Reno:

Monday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 58. Breezy, with a west wind 10 to 15 mph and increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.

Monday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 32. Breezy, with a southwest wind 15 to 20 mph and decreasing to 10 to 15 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.

Tuesday - Sunny, with a high near 60. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night - Clear, with a low around 27. North wind around 5 mph becoming east after midnight.

Wednesday - Sunny, with a high near 65. East wind 5 to 10 mph.

Wednesday Night - Clear, with a low around 29.

Thursday - Sunny, with a high near 71.

Thursday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 33.

Friday - Sunny, with a high near 72.

Friday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 35.

Saturday - Sunny, with a high near 64.

Saturday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 26.
