Easter fun for families in South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - With Easter coming up this Sunday, there are several ways to enjoy the "eggcellant" holiday around the South Shore Friday through Sunday.

Friday

Join all the Easter fun with Kahle Community Center and Tahoe Douglas Fire Fighter Association for an "an Eggstra special day" for their annual Tot Egg Hunt on Friday, April 7 at 11 a.m. (sharp). Ages 0-6 are invited to the free event at the center. The Easter Bunny will be hiding eggs outside in the playgrounds. Fire trucks will be available to climb on and say "hi" to the firefighters. Bring a basket to collect eggs.

Saturday

The South Lake Tahoe Optimist Club is holding it's annual Easter Egg Hunt on
Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Lake Tahoe Community College in their parking lot. This is for ages 1-11. Timeline: 10:30 a.m. Easter Costume Parade & Contest; 10:45 a.m. Easter Bonnet Contest; 11 a.m. Egg Hunt by age group. Parents will not be allowed to enter any designated hunt areas with their children. Bring a basket or sack to hold the kids' eggs. The Easter Bunny will visit all activities, so bring your camera!

The community is invited to join in the Tahoe Community Church's Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 8 at 10 a.m. This fun event is open to ages 1-12 and it is free. There are eggs and golden eggs with special prizes. The church is located at 145 Daggett Way off Kingsbury Grade in Stateline, Nev. Call or text Jacky a 775.901.0870 with any questions.

Sunday

Camp Zephyr Easter Eggstravaganza. Free pancake breakfast at 8 a.m., Morning sing at 9:30 a.m., Egg Hunt and pictures with the Easter Bunny at 10 a.m. All starts off with Easter Sunrise Service - go for one event, or all of them at the Zephyr Point Presbyterian Conference Center.

The Shops at Heavenly Village has scheduled the popular East Egg hunt on Sunday, April 9 at 10 a.m. Children aged 10 and end can enter the festivities and have a chance at some of the 15,000 eggs filled with candy and toys. Multiple eggs contain cash with a total of $1,000 being given out
The cost is $5 per child. Kids can also enjoy brunch with the Easter Bunny before and after the event at Fire and Ice restaurant just steps away from the egg hunt grounds for just $20. For adults, $14.99 bottomless mimosas will be available at brunch. Additionally, a Build-a-Bunny station will be set up for the kids to stuff their own Heavenly Village souvenirs for just $15.
