SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - As wildlife around Lake Tahoe start to come out now that spring is finally here, humans need to be aware as they are searching for food sources.
Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care, South Tahoe Refuse, Clean Tahoe, and Supervisor Brooke Laine have joined together with the help of Leona Allen to disseminate information about coexisting with local wildlife.
The search for food and get wildlife into trouble unless humans learn how to behave, said Leona.
The group has created the attached graphics to give to Lake Tahoe agencies, organizations, property managers, and the media to spread the word. Everyone is welcome to share these graphics to help get the word out. They would appreciate the flyers being in every vacation home, camping and hiking sites, and motels, as well as in the hands of locals.

Tips for living in harmony with our wild neighbors:
*Never Feed Wildlife! There is an abundance of food for them to eat.
*Close shades and lock windows when not at home.
*Lock your cars. Do not leave items with an odor in your vehicle.
*Secure food and garbage. Never leave trash or coolers (even empty) outside the house.
