Fundraising underway for Tallac Hotshot battling cancer

Charlie Jones, a captain of the Tallac Hotshots, has been diagnosed with cancer after a tumor was found during his first ever colonoscopy.

As the sole income earner for the family, he spends the majority of each summer and wildfire season away from home and on the fire line. He's the father of two young children and husband to his wife Holly.

Doctors are currently saying that there will be a potential surgery with a temporary colostomy bag, followed by another six months of chemotherapy. Unfortunately, this course of treatment will not allow Charlie to be out on the line this fire season.

The community is rallying for Charlie and his family on GoFundMe raising funds that will help with medical expenses and a missed fire season.

The Tallac Hotshots shared the fundraiser on their Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TallacHotshots/.
