Sunray Hotel code issues not corrected, violations coming

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - After numerous code violations were found at the Sunray Hotel in South Lake Tahoe on March 7, the City of South Lake Tahoe gave the owners 30 days to address a list of items that needed to be corrected.

On April 13, City staff returned to the Lake Tahoe Boulevard motel used by local weekly and monthly renters.

"Inspectors found Building Code, Fire Code, and Substandard housing violations as well as general nuisances that have not been corrected," said Hilary Roverud, director of the City's Development Services department of their April 13 inspection.

Roverud said on Friday the City is putting together the paperwork needed to begin issuing fines for the violations.
