Chance of rain mid-week in an otherwise sunny forecast for South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Dry and warm spring conditions continue into Monday as high pressure moves east. A low pressure system will then drop into the area Tuesday and Wednesday with cooler temperatures, increased winds and chances for showers and upper elevation snow (yes, that word again). A few thunderstorms are also possible according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno. Drier and warmer conditions return later in the week with wetter conditions possible late next weekend.
The weekly forecast for South Lake Tahoe from NWS Reno:
Monday - Sunny, with a high near 69. Light and variable wind becoming southwest 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.
Monday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 33. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph
becoming light and variable in the evening.
Tuesday - A slight chance of thunderstorms after 5pm. Snow level 7300 feet rising to 8200 feet in the afternoon. Sunny, with a high near 63. Light south wind becoming southwest 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 10%.
Tuesday Night - A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8pm, then a chance of showers between 8pm and 11pm. Snow level 8100 feet lowering to 7000 feet after midnight . Mostly clear, with a low around 31. West wind 5 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Wednesday - A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11am. Snow level 6500 feet rising to 7400 feet in the afternoon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 62. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Thursday - Sunny, with a high near 65.
