Clean Tahoe schedules $5 Dump Day

Event Date:
June 10, 2023 - 8:00am

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - It's the day that many locals wait for - $5 Dump Day on June 10! An annual tradition in South Lake Tahoe, Community Cleanup Day allows residents to get rid of unwanted items for just $5 a carload, along with free dumping of mattresses, refrigerators, computers, and televisions. The cost is $10 for a truckload or for Nevada residents. No construction materials are allowed.

From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., vehicles can go through the line at South Tahoe Refuse, located at 2140 Ruth Avenue, South Lake Tahoe (yes, you could go through more than once).

There is a special service for senior citizens who cannot transport unwanted furniture or other bulk items to the event. Call ahead and leave items on the curb, and they will be picked up for the same $5 fee. Call 530-544-4210 before June 10 to schedule your pickup.

Funding for the cleanup day is provided in part by Vail EpicPromise. Expenses for the free refrigerator disposal are provided by the Pay It Forward Project, free shredding from Iron Mountain, and the mattress and box spring services are provided by Mattress Recycling Council's Bye Bye Mattress. Additional sponsorship is provided by South Tahoe Refuse, the Kiwanis Club of Lake Tahoe, and the California Conservation Corps.
