David Foster sculpture being auctioned for South Lake Tahoe woman's cancer recovery

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A sculpture donated by the family of world-renown artist David Foster is being auctioned to help South Lake Tahoe local Angela Cabrera as she heals from rare Burkitt Lymphoma (highly aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma).

Angela Cabrera is known and loved by many in the South Lake Tahoe community. She is a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, friend, and small business owner of Emanate Gallery & Framing.

The late Foster had some of his sculptures shown at Cabrera's gallery. His bronze piece with ferric patina, Repose, will be in the silent auction. Repoe sits on a granite platform on a singular, allowing it to revolve. it is 24” (tall) x 19” (wide) x 9” (deep).

The retail value is $14,000 and bids will start at $8,500.

David Foster of South Lake Tahoe died in 2021 at the age of 78. He was an internationally recognized sculptor who specialized in movement and a unique interpretation of human form. His bronze casting had either been created through the lost wax process or directly formed from his original marbles, which were sourced from the same quarry of Michelangelo’s art. David’s work adds an undeniable elegance to any collection. He created and chaired the art department at Lake Tahoe Community College from September 1976 to June 2008.
