Multiple agencies respond to fire near Van Sickle Bi-State Park in South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Just before 11 a.m. on Wednesday, South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue, USDA Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, CAL FIRE Amador-El Dorado Unit, and deputies from the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office responded to a small wildfire near Van Sickle Park in South Lake Tahoe.

Forward progress was stopped at approximately 1/10 acre, and a hand line around the fire is complete and the area is in patrol status.

A USFS fire investigator is on scene and the cause is under investigation. In the past, the area where this fire occurred has see fires from illegal campfire activity.
