COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County is reporting 61 more residents have tested positive for COVID-19 since Monday: 1 from Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, 16 in El Dorado Hills, 1 in Diamond Springs/El Dorado, 4 in North County, 9 in Greater Placerville, 11 in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, 2 in South County, 17 in Lake Tahoe region. Awaiting address confirmation from today's count: 0. Total now awaiting address confirmation: 97.

Of those new cases, 16 are under the age of 18, 34 are age 18-49, 9 are aged 50-64, and 2 aged 65 or older. Awaiting age confirmation from today's count: 0. Total birthdate unknown to date: 11.

There have been another 27 assumed recoveries with 482 assumed active cases.

There have been an additional 1,480 negative results received.

There are currently 3 COVID-19 patients hospitalized and 1 of those is in the ICU. As of today, Barton has 0 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 in the ICU and 3 hospitalized due to COVID-19 at Marshall, with 1 in the ICU. There are 0 suspected COVID-positive patients in the ICU at Barton. Also according to the State website, Barton has 4 available ICU beds, Marshall 1.

There have been no additional deaths. Since March 2020 there have been 109 COVID-related deaths in El Dorado County.

With respect to the tier assignment measures (and which color tiers those numbers fall in):

- Adjusted case rate: 8.3 (-0.7) (Red Tier- more than 10 is purple)
- Positivity rate: 3.4% (-0.2%) (Orange Tier)
- Health equity quartile positivity rate: 5.5% (+1.1%) (Red Tier)

Saturday (4/24/2021)
There was an additional death in the Quad-County Region. The individual was a female Carson City resident in her 80’s. There were also 18 new cases and 28 additional recoveries. This brought the total number of cases to 12,379, with 11,740 recoveries and 226 deaths; 413 cases remained active.

Sunday (4/25/2021)
There were 20 new cases and 12 additional recoveries. This brought the total number of cases to 12,399, with 11,752 recoveries and 226 deaths; 421 cases remained active.

Monday (4/26/2021)
Today we are reporting 12 new cases and 13 additional recoveries. The weekend numbers and today’s numbers bring the total number of cases to 12,411, with 11,765 recoveries and 226 deaths; 420 cases remain active.
