Lake Tahoe Earth Week – Earth Day Festival 2024

Event Date:
April 27, 2024 - 10:00am

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Earth Week Tahoe wraps up on April 27th, 2024, which is also the South Earth Day Festival! Come celebrate 55 years of Earth Day by joining us at the South Lake Tahoe Earth Day Festival at Lake Tahoe Community College from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Every day can be Earth Day when you practice sustainable actions like those outlined below.

Practice Zero Waste and Leave No Trace – Practice Leave No Trace out on the trail before you head over to the South Lake Earth Day Festival! Dispose of waste properly at the festival by putting trash in a trashcan, recycling in a recycling bin, and composting food scraps. Snow is melting revealing natural treasures, leave what you find, but take as many pictures as you’d like! Finally, respect wildlife and be considerate of other visitors. If we all do our part, we can enjoy Lake Tahoe’s beauty and ensure that our children and great-great-grandchildren can do the same.

Environmental Bingo and Raffle in a new place – There are so many amazing organizations in Lake Tahoe! Learn all about them by picking up a bingo card at the festival. Be sure to blaze a trail of kindness at whatever booths you visit. Make sure to enter the raffle once you complete bingo.

Walk, Bike, Roll, or Take Transit – You can be car-free and carefree on miles of walking and biking paths, along convenient bus routes, while heading to Lake Tahoe Community College for the South Tahoe Earth Day Festival. A free bike valet is available to all who join by bike.

Thank you to the South Tahoe Earth Day Festival Sponsors: Lake Tahoe Community College South Tahoe Public Utility District, South Tahoe Refuse, Pay It Forward Project, Edgewood Companies, Heavenly Mountain Resort, Tahoe Water Suppliers Association, Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, and Liberty Utilities.
