North and South Lake Tahoe casinos have "win" of $62 million in March

STATELINE, Nev. - Casinos in the state of Nevada shut down in March 2020 as the coronavirus started to put its grip on public activity. The monthly report of Nevada's non-restricted gaming licensees reflects the dramatic stoppage of gaming activity.

The Gaming Control Board (GCB) reported a total “gaming win” of $1,066,979,987 for the month of March 2021. This amounts to a 72.66 percent increase compared to March 2020, when licensees reported a gaming win of $617,971,174 when they were open just half of the month.

In its monthly report, GCB figures show the casinos on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe had a "win" of $24,087,861, up 166.06 percent from March 2020. The casinos on the South Shore reported $5,931,000 in winnings from table games and $18,157,000 from slots.

The "gaming win" represents the computed income of casinos before business expenses and taxes.

The State has collected $622,124,194 in percentage fees to date for the fiscal year which began July 1.

Washoe County posted a win of $83,122,120 as a whole with North Lake Tahoe casinos' "win" of $2,032,210, up 176.18 percent.

The Carson Valley casinos had a "win" of $11,977,460, up 130.31 percent from the same month in 2020.
