Lake Wind Advisory for Lake Tahoe Thursday

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Lake Wind Advisory for the Lake Tahoe area for Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Expect winds from the west, 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph expected. Waves on the lake will be 1 to 3 feet.

Small boats, kayaks, and paddle boards will be prone to capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions improve.

The forecast is for sunny skies with a high near 50 with a low tonight of 25.

Gusty winds are expected to return Saturday, and at this time gust up to 25 mph are expected.
