Bomb threat at South Tahoe High Friday disrupts school, nothing found

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTDP) is investigating a bomb threat that was phoned into South Tahoe High School on Friday.

SLTPD searched the campus and nothing suspicious was found.

"This event was disheartening and disruptive, it's just very unfortunate that someone would do this," said Lake Tahoe Unified School Disrict PIO Shannon Chandler.

An alert went out to parents advising them that the threat was made and the search for an explosive device was underway. School buses were on standby should the school have to be evacuated, but that step never had to be taken.
