Tahoe Valley Elementary talent show and raffle to raise funds for scholarships

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Tahoe Valley Elementary School will once again be celebrating the talents of its students and raising funds for the Tahoe Valley Scholarship this Friday, May 12. The Tahoe Valley Talent Show will begin at 6 p.m. at the Tahoe Valley School Theater and is free and open to the public. The Talent Show features the unique talents of 3rd-5th grade students, along with a staff act. This is the annual fundraiser for the Tahoe Valley Scholarship.

Besides the raffle there will be food available for purchase.

The Tahoe Valley Scholarship honors and provides funds to high school seniors, who attended Tahoe Valley Elementary School in their primary years, so they can attend college or trade school. They are able to provide these funds only through donations from caring community members and businesses either in the form of a cash donation or through the donation of gift certificates or unique items used in the annual raffle. Winners do not have to be present to win.

This scholarship was created through the foresight and dedication of Mr. Glen, the school custodian, and has become one of the school's key programs and support for former students. It has always been his deepest desire to see students reach their full potential and gain the skills they need through higher education. Through these scholarships, they hope the funds help students reach their dreams and potential and that they “Pay It Forward” in the future through kind works and dedication to making the world a better place.
