Next S.I.S.T.A.R.S. community meeting to feature SLTFR Battalion Chief Kim George

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Dreda Dre, South Lake Tahoe-based hip hop artist, has started another empowerment group for locals, this time it is for women - S.I.T.S.T.A.R.S. (Supporting, Inspiring, Sharing, Teaching, Accepting, Relating Sanctuary).

This women's group follows on the heels of the group for men, S.M.I.L.E.S. (Supporting Men In Learning Emotional Stability), that he started one year ago.

The guest speaker on Wednesday, May 29 will be South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue Battalion Chief/Fire Marshal Kim George. She will speak about the challenges facing women in the fire service as they rise through the ranks.

The event is open to all women and will be held at the community center next to Tahoe Wellness Center from 5:30 p.m. - 8 p.m.
