First-time homebuyer fair to be held in South Lake Tahoe

The South Tahoe Association of REALTORS® Young Professionals Network (YPN) is coordinating a fair for first-time homebuyers to educate them about the benefits of homeownership, how to navigate the market, and what to expect in the home purchase process. This event will take place on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 5 p.m. at the Lake Tahoe AleWorx.

Real estate professionals will share helpful tips on how to best position themselves when they’re ready to buy, such as improving their credit, getting prequalified, etc., and what they can expect from start to finish.

Many believe that they simply can’t afford to buy a home, especially not in South Lake Tahoe. But what if you could?? Did you know that homeownership is a path to building wealth for yourself and your family for generations to come? Even with extreme weather and natural disasters in the state of California, we continue to see equity gains for homeowners over the long run. Homeownership also helps stabilize communities and encourages involvement as well as investment in owners’ hometowns. Studies also show that children do better academically due to the greater stability of homeownership.
