Kudos: Bread & Broth thanks Heavenly Mountain Resort

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The dinner guests attending Bread & Broth’s (B%B) Monday Meal on April 24 were treated to tri-tip steaks marinated in BBQ sauce, sweet potato fries, a garden salad, rolls, and a variety of drinks and desserts. This very special dinner served at St. Theresa Grace Hall was sponsored by Vail’s Heavenly Mountain Resort and the tri-tip steaks were donated by Smart & Final.

The outstanding meal was put together by B&B’s talented cooks and the B&B volunteers along with the Adopt A Day (AAD) crew volunteers from Heavenly. All of the serving volunteers and AAD crew members worked hard to put together the food ‘giveaway’ bags, welcome the dinner guests, serve the dinner, and get Grace Hall cleaned up after the happy and well-fed guests departed Grace Hall to return home for the evening.

Thanks to Vail’s EpicPromise Grant, funds were provided to help cover the cost of the meal and help purchase the eggs, milk, butter, and fresh fruit and vegetables that are included in the food “giveaway” bags.

The Heavenly team members Lucille Donohue, Katie Ficeto, and Ashley Kiger, arrived at 3 p.m. ready to jump in and help wherever needed and brought their cheery smiles and great attitude to the evening meal.

“Amazing experience!” exclaimed Lucille. “There is a need in the community and to help serve that need was great. I feel lucky to be a part of it.”
