Two recent fatal crashes in Douglas County - One on US395, another on SR88

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - A 43-year-old Minden resident died last week after a single-vehicle rollover crash on US-395 in the area of Douglas County Mile Marker 7 in Gardnerville.
Troopers with the Nevada State Police, Highway Patrol Division, responded to reports of the crash at approximately 2:31 a.m. on May 8, 2022.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a blue 2001 Ford Explorer SUV was traveling north on US-395 near Douglas County Mile Marker 7 when, for unknown reasons, it crossed over the centerline and left the roadway
The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. Speed is a possible factor in this crash.
The driver of the Ford, Jason Clarkson, succumbed to his injuries from the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
This crash is being investigated by the Highway Patrol Division’s Northern Command West Multi-Disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team (M.I.R.T.) - Case #220500478. If anyone has any information about this

Another fatal crash happened on Sunday, May 15 on SR-88 near Kimmerling. The crash was reported at 4:03 p.m. According to Nevada State Police, two vehicles were involved, one rolled over and ended up in the river. The driver of that vehicle was transported to an area hospital and was declared deceased there.
The roadway was closed until around 10:00 p.m.
