South Lake Tahoe Memorial Day ceremony to be held virtually

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The American Legion and Happy Homestead Cemetery are creating a virtual Memorial Day ceremony for the public to view. With gathering in large groups still not recommended, all of the features of an in-person ceremony are being recorded for viewing on May 31, 2021.
The pre-recorded ceremony with speeches and music will be available starting at 8:00 a.m. on the Happy Homestead Cemetery District's YouTube Channel (here), and the American Legion Post 795 Facebook page (click here).
On Friday at 9:00 a.m., May 28, 600 flags will be placed by volunteers on the gravesites of veterans laid to rest at Happy Homestead Cemetary on Johnson Boulevard in South Lake Tahoe.
