SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - If all goes according to plan, the second South Lake Tahoe City Council meeting of the month n June on the 15th will be held in person in the council chambers. It will be the first meeting held at City Hall since the pandemic started over a year ago, and it will be an evening meeting.

Tahoe Sports and Entertainment (TSE), South Tahoe Ice Arena operators, are supposed to pay certain fees to the City, including a concession fee of $2,025 per month and utilities including electricity and gas. Failure to meet the terms of the agreement could be a reason to terminate the agreement. COVID-19-related restrictions on opening have caused TSE to fall behind $20,250 in concession fees and $41,076.73 in utility payments. City Manager Joe Irvin and City Attorney Heather Stroud have been working with TSE over the past few months to resolve the default through a payment plan. Council will vote on an agreement to waive
the past-due concession fees of $20,250 and associated late fees, and the past-due utilities of $41,076.73 would be paid over a 10-year payment plan. If accepted TSE would begin making timely payments In June 2021.
A termination of the cannabis development agreement with Perfect Union SLT, LLC. They failed to gain all necessary approvals and be open for business by February
13, 2021. On May 13, 2021, the Planning Commission held a public hearing and passed a resolution suspending the associated Cannabis Use Permit and recommending that City Council adopt an ordinance terminating the development agreement.
