Jeremy Renner's foundation holding summer camp for foster youth at Lake Tahoe 4H Camp, counselors needed

LAKE TAHOE, Nev. - Actor Jeremy Renner, who has a home near Mt. Rose at Lake Tahoe, has created a foundation to support foster youth in the Reno/Northern Nevada area. The RennerVation Foundation is holding a summer camp for those foster youth at the 4H Camp in Stateline from July 1-5, 2024, and camp counselors are still needed.

The biggest need is for male cabin counselors and high-school-age counselors in training. A cabin houses about 10-12 youths.

The camp is designed as a place where the youth can find solace, create friendships, find lifelong mentors, and cultivate essential life skills beyond the confines of traditional education. For siblings separated by the foster care system, the camp will reunite them in shared moments of joy and connection.

As the camp website says, children who are experiencing complex emotions related to their family status will be given attention, affirmation, coping strategies, and a safe place where they can leave their troubles at home.

During Camp RennerVation, campers will experience outdoor survival skills, enjoy the 4th of July fireworks from one of the best viewing spots on the lake, arts and crafts, and many more activities.

Cabin counselors will be responsible for leading campers ages 8-13 through a week's worth of activities and fun. Counselors will work with their assigned cabin while bunking, eating, and playing. They are seeking individuals for this role who love working with children, have patience and empathy, and enjoy outdoor activities.

The counselor-in-training role will provide mentorship and companionship to our campers ages 8-13. They will have a chance to create a memorable experience for the youth in attendance and themselves while bunking, eating, and playing together for a week's worth of fun & exciting activities. They are seeking young individuals for this role who are responsible, patient, and love working with kids!
