Douglas County man dies in rollover crash in Glenbrook

LAKE TAHOE, Nev. - A Gardnerville man died on May 21, 2022 in a single vehicle rollover crash in the area of Old Highway 50 and Prey Meadow in the Glenbrook area of Lake Tahoe.

Troopers with the Nevada State Police, Highway Patrol Division, responded to a report of the crash at 3:45 p.m.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a red 2010 GMC Canyon pickup was traveling west on private property when, for unknown reasons, went off the roadway to the left and overturned. The driver was partially ejected from the vehicle.

The driver of the GMC has been identified as Daniel Wayne Lopez, 56. He succumbed to his injuries from the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Mr. Lopez was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to Nevada State Police.

This crash is being investigated by the Highway Patrol Division’s Northern Command West Multi-Disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team (M.I.R.T.) - Case #220501443.
