Inmate found at Thunderbird after going missing from Lake Tahoe work crew

3:34 p.m. Update: Johannsen was found by Washoe County Deputies on the Thunderbird Lodge property at around 2:15 p.m. this afternoon. He was walking on the main roadway, less than 50 yards away from the main house. Deputies detained Johannsen and released him to the NDOC.
WASHOE COUNTY, Nev. - An inmate assigned to minimum-security work detail on the east shore of Lake Tahoe has become separated from his work crew. According to the Washoe County Sheriff's Office, Ray Johannsen was with the Nevada Department of Corrections (NDOC) fire crew just west of Memorial Point.
Johannsen was last seen shortly after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning.
The inmate was last seen wearing light blue jeans, a light blue shirt with either a dark blue or white undershirt. He possibly has an orange hard hat. Johannsen is 5’10” and weighs 220 pounds. He has brown hair, brown eyes, and currently has a beard. His legs are tattooed with sleeves from his knees to his ankles. His arms are both fully sleeved with skulls and faces. His left hand has a tattoo of “KD” in a web, and he has a neck tattoo that reads “Nikki.”
