LAKE TAHOE, Calif./Nev. - With a goal of inspiring everyone to take care of Tahoe, a virtual workshop is being held as a destination stewardship plan is created that will balance the needs of Lake Tahoe’s environment, businesses, visitors, and local communities. Lake Tahoe residents, community members, and stakeholders interested in the responsible management of tourism and recreation are invited to take part in the workshop.

The Lake Tahoe Destination Stewardship Plan virtual workshops will take place on June 9 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be in English, and on June 10 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. where it will be presented in Spanish. In-person workshops were held around Lake Tahoe in May, and this is another way the public can participate. The results of the in-person and virtual workshops will come back this fall for further discussion.

The goal of these workshops has been to gather feedback and secure ideas for increasing benefits and minimizing the impacts of tourism to optimize the value of Lake Tahoe's top economic driver.
