SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Lift Literature has announced its inaugural Summer Reading Challenge for kids on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe for ages 2-18. Many kids may have fallen behind during the pandemic, so Lift Literature wants to help them fall in love with reading again!

Read 300 minutes to earn a free ice cream! There will be four grand prize winners who will each receive family game tickets (for four people) to see the San Francisco Giants!

This promotion is to bring the fun back into reading while also enjoying the outdoors (yes, you can do both!). Tag a picture of your most outdoorsy reading moment with #wheredoyouread and @liftliterature. Life Literature will randomly give away prizes throughout the challenge!

What is the challenge?
The challenge is to read as many minutes as possible this summer! We believe that reading is one of the best ways to get caught up from learning losses this year, so we want your child to read as much as possible. We're hoping that our incentives will help make reading fun.

Once your child reaches 300 minutes they can receive a free ice cream cone at Aloha Ice Cream! Grand Prize Winners will win tickets to a San Francisco Giants Game!

We will send you a reading log to track minutes! You must submit your reading log to receive prizes. Minutes are self-reported so we trust the honor system here!

How many Grand Prize Winners will you announce?
The San Francisco Giants have generously gifted 4 sets of 4 game tickets! The kids who read the most minutes at the elementary, middle, and high school levels have a chance to win a ticket for themselves and three guests to attend a game! The final set of tickets is specifically set aside for a kid in the Summer Reading Intervention Program at the Boys and Girls Club!

Does reading to my child count?
Yes! Whether or not your child is just learning how to read or you are reading an older child, these minutes count!
