Community Clean Up Day Saturday

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The long-awaited annual cleanup day in South Lake Tahoe has been scheduled for Saturday, June 8. Clean Tahoe will be holding the day-long event from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Fondly known as $5 Dump Day, dispose of unwanted items for just $5 per carload. Residential loads only. Nevada residents are charged $10 per load as are pick-up trucks and trailers. UHauls and oversized trucks are priced by size.

Mattresses and box springs (maximum four units) are free, computer monitors and televisions are free, refrigerators are free, and document shredding is free. Tires are $5 per load (limit nine).

Returning this year is the offering of curbside help for senior citizens unable to transport bulky items like unwanted furniture. Clean Tahoe will come pick them up for $5. Arrange to get them transported ahead of time by calling 530-544-4210.

The Community Dump Day takes place at South Tahoe Refuse Transfer Center, 2140 Ruth Avenue, South Lake Tahoe.
