Join us at AleWorx to learn more about Soroptimists and having fun serving South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra (SITS) club is holding a meet-and-greet on Monday, June 10 at Lake Tahoe AleWorx at the Y at 5 p.m. Stop by to learn more about the club, and how to join, what the members do, and everything "Soroptimist."

SITS has been in South Lake Tahoe since 1977 and is dedicated to enhancing the lives of women and youth in our community and the world.

The members of SITS were in Reno this weekend, winning several awards at the region's annual conference of Soroptimists. Their work in the community has made a difference, and it is being recognized and celebrated throughout the region.

They recently held their MadHatter fundraiser, online silent auction, and raffle for two vacations - all to raise funds to help the community through scholarships, nonprofit support, middle school and Mt. Tallac support, and many other needs. They also have fun with activities, and last year they won the award for Best Float at the City of South Lake Tahoe 4th of July Parade!

Their mission statement is to “Strengthen and enhance the lives of women and youth in our community and the world.” With our established mission in mind, we participate in programs at our local level based on the specific needs of our community. In addition, our club is mindful of the need to enhance the lives of women and youth throughout the world."
