Another weather roller coaster in the week ahead at Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The roller coaster weather that those in the Lake Tahoe Basin have been experiencing continues this week. There is a cool start to the week that will lead to a midweek warmup that returns above-average temperatures. For the upcoming weekend though, the roller coaster continues when another system could bring cooler temperatures and breezy winds back again.

The forecast from the National Weather Service in Reno for the Lake Tahoe Basin:

Monday - Sunny, with a high near 77. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Monday Night - Clear, with a low around 31. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming east after midnight.

Tuesday - Sunny, with a high near 72. Light and variable wind becoming west 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night - Clear, with a low around 37. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Wednesday - Sunny, with a high near 80. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night - Clear, with a low around 43.

Thursday - Sunny, with a high near 82.

Thursday Night - Clear, with a low around 46.

Friday - Sunny, with a high near 70.

Friday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 38. Breezy.

Saturday - A slight chance of showers. Snow level 7500 feet rising to 8600
feet in the afternoon. Sunny, with a high near 69.

Saturday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 34.

Sunday - Sunny, with a high near 73.
