SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Lake Tahoe Historical Society is bringing back its popular summer speaker series, Tahoe History Talks on the Beach, on Tuesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. starting June 25.
The free talks are held at Lakeview Commons on the west side steps. Lakeview Commons is located at the corner of US50 and Lakeview Ave. There is plenty of free parking.

June 25
“An Unconventional Success, ‘Lucky’ Baldwin and His Daughter Anita," a Chautauqua performance by David and Gayle Woodruff.
July 2
The Borges Brothers, Don, Dwight, Dean, and Dave, will share Lake Tahoe history, Virginia City’s water supply, and the frontiersman, Kit Carson.
July 9
Sierra Alphorn Players, a local ensemble of Swiss mountain horn musicians who perform traditional Swiss, French, and Italian pieces.
July 16
“Lake Tahoe’s George and Elia Whittell, The Accidental Conservationists,” a Chautauqua performance by David and Gayle Woodruff.
July 23
“I Got Bombed at Harvey’s,” the history of the first domestic bombing on U.S. soil, including first-hand accounts of locals who were there.
July 30
“All-Star Legends,” an evening of local speakers with MC Dave Borges. Learn the stories of these sages of our community. Questions welcomed.
August 6
Toogee Sielsch, our resident urbanized bear expert who taught himself bear behavior during his morning walks in the late 1990s and is now our bear authority.
August 13
"Getting The Lead Out of Tahoe" - Sierra Club Tahoe Area Group in partnership with the Lake Tahoe Historical Society, hear from Evan Dreyer on the Tahoe Lead Removal Project. It is a community initiative focused on removing inactive lead telecommunication cables from Lake Tahoe.
