Cooler start to the week at Lake Tahoe with 20 degree increase by the weekend

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - There will be a drop in temperatures to start the week at Lake Tahoe, but nothing to worry about, it's only for two days. The much cooler conditions will be on Monday and Tuesday with Tuesday morning lows dipping below freezing in Sierra valleys, at freezing for the lake, and near freezing for colder western NV valleys.

But never fear! There is a warming trend for the second half of the week. Daytime highs for lower elevations will return to the 90s to around 100, and high 80s for Lake Tahoe by next weekend.

The forecast for South Lake Tahoe from National Weather Service in Reno:

Monday - Sunny, with a high near 64. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming north in the afternoon.
Monday Night - Clear, with a low of around 32. North wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable in the evening.
Tuesday - Sunny, with a high near 69. Calm wind, becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.
Tuesday Night - Mostly clear, with a low of around 37. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Juneteenth - Sunny, with a high near 75. Calm wind, becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.
Wednesday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low of around 42.
Thursday - Sunny, with a high near 79.
Thursday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 46.
Friday - Sunny, with a high near 84.
Friday Night - Clear, with a low of around 50.
Saturday - Sunny, with a high near 87.
Saturday Night - Clear, with a low of around 51.
