Lucky Beaver staff donates $20,000 to Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care (TWC), the local non-profit tasked with taking care of Lake Tahoe's injured, sick, and orphaned animals, has received a donation from the staff at Stateline's Lucky Beaver Bar and Grill.

Knowing the group is important to the area, the staff knew they wanted to make a difference and pulled together to personally donate over $20,000 to TWC over the last month.

As of today, TWC has rooms full of chipmunks, squirrels, baby coyotes, seven undernourished raptors, hawks, and they are seeing a constant stream of baby birds. The food bill is about $500 a week, then that will go up dramatically when the bears start to come in.

Besides the food and supply bill, the animal care center is trying to finish its building project on Al Tahoe Boulevard.

“Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care is honored to receive a generous donation from Lucky
Beaver Bar and Burger," said Coralin Glerum, Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care board member. "Our mission to Rescue, Rehabilitate, and Release orphaned and injured. Wildlife is dependent on the kindness and generosity of our community. We truly appreciate this gift to our Operations and Capital Projects funding and look forward to partnering with Lucky Beaver in future activities.”

Pat Farrah, co-owner of the Lucky Beaver Bar and Burger, was super proud of his staff for spearheading this type of initiative in the midst of staffing shortages and the hectic nature of being one of the busiest restaurants and bars in the area.

“I cannot tell you how proud I am of the Lucky Beaver team. The leadership, commitment to both the business and the community is overwhelming,” said Farrah.

“The Lucky Beaver has been blessed to be a part of the Stateline community for nine
years and looking forward to many more," added Farrah. Thank you to our patrons for the amazing support and to our amazing staff for continuing to strive for excellence all while giving back to the community whenever possible.”
