Warm start to the 4th of July holiday at Lake Tahoe - more reasonable by the weekend

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Summer heat looks like it is here to stay for now, with very warm temperatures continuing through mid-week before things return to more seasonal averages as we head into next weekend. Rain-free conditions along with typical summer breezes during the late afternoon and early evening hours are in each day's forecast.

Fireworks viewing weather looks to be very favorable with daytime highs at Lake Tahoe near 83, and overnight lows down to the low 50s with wind around 5 mph.

Today - Sunny, with a high near 83. West wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Tonight - Mostly clear, with a low around 51. West wind 5 to 15 mph becoming south in the evening.

Independence Day - Sunny, with a high near 83. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night - Clear, with a low of around 52. West wind around 5 mph.

Wednesday - Sunny, with a high near 83. Light and variable wind becoming west at 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 49. West wind 5 to 15 mph.

Thursday - Sunny, with a high near 78.

Thursday Night - Clear, with a low of around 45.

Friday -Sunny, with a high near 78.
