Douglas County and South Lake Tahoe law enforcement kept busy over the 4th

The 4th of July was another busy one on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe, with large numbers at the beaches, on the trails and on the roads.

The South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) responded to 293 calls for service that resulted in 54 traffic stops and 15 arrests between July 2 and July 5, 2021.

The arrests:

32-year-old male for Resisting, Obstructing, Delaying Law Enforcement
26-year-old male for Felony Vandalism, Resisting, Obstruction
39-year-old male for Felony Domestic Battery with Serious Bodily Injury
48-year-old male for Public Intoxication
19-year-old male for Brandishing with a Weapon other than a Firearm
28-year-old male for Misdemeanor Warrant
39-year-old female for DUI
47-year-old male for Misdemeanor Warrant/DUI
50-year-old male for Felony Burglary
36-year-old male for Violation of Court Order
31-year-old male for Trespassing
22-year-old male for DUI
28-year-old male for DUI/Drugs
22-year-old male for DUI

On the Nevada side, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) arrested a total of 46 persons between July 3 and July 5, which included both the Lake Tahoe and the Carson Valley areas. The arrests included the following:

• Trespassing: 4
• Battery: 1
• Disorderly Conduct: 1
• Intoxicated Pedestrian: 1
• Minor Possess Alcohol: 2
• Domestic Battery: 3
• Possess Drugs: 8
• DUI: 8
• Minor Consuming: 2

There was also a break in at the main post office in South Lake Tahoe over the weekend. Nine mail boxes were pried open. If you think your mailbox was tampered with, contact the post office.
