Douglas County Sheriff's Office Street Enforcement Team arrest alleged drug traffickers

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - Two men were arrested on July 7 on suspicion of trafficking, sales, and possession of large amounts of methamphetamine.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office Street Enforcement Team (SET), in conjunction with the Tri-Net Task Force and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, arrested the men in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart Store on Grant Avenue in Gardnerville. The arrests were the culmination of a short investigation into the drug trafficking activities of David Wright, a 56-year-old male from the southern California area.

SET had been conducting undercover negotiations with Wright for the delivery of one pound of methamphetamine. Wright agreed to deliver the one pound of methamphetamine to the parking lot of the Wal-Mart Store. Once Mr. Wright delivered the methamphetamine, he was arrested.

A passenger in Wright's vehicle, 56-year-old Mr. Sung Lee, also from the southern California area, was also arrested.

Wright delivered approximately 462 grams of methamphetamine, but another approximately 82.3 grams of methamphetamine and approximately 8.7 grams of suspected psilocybin mushrooms were found in his car.

Lee was found to have approximately 7.9 grams of methamphetamine on his person at the time of his arrest.

Wright was booked into the Douglas County Jail and charged with three felonies: High level of trafficking a controlled substance, sales of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance. His bail has been set at $100,000.
