"Normal" July temperatures return to South Lake Tahoe by mid-week

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Strong high pressure will persist over the Sierra through Tuesday, with a few degrees of cooling starting Wednesday. High temperatures will be into the upper 80s to mid 90s for Sierra valleys with
highs peaking in the upper 60s to upper 70s even over higher Sierra peaks.

The changes at mid-week see 90s disappearing from the South Lake Tahoe forecast and more seasonable temperatures moving in, at least for the immediate future according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno. Typical July heat will prevail instead of the oppressive temperatures recently experienced. Some scattered thunderstorms are expected this week with more chances of wetter storms next week.

Winds are expected with gusts up to 25 mph to start the week.
