More rain expected Monday at Lake Tahoe, then sunshine and warming temperatures

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - After a very wet weekend, the storm chances drop off significantly on Tuesday through the remainder of the work week as we remain under the influence of the trough. Temperatures will also remain moderated to near or just above seasonal averages through the week.

More typical July warmth is expected through much of this week. A warming trend looks likely next weekend as a ridge re-amplifies over the western US, according to Reno's National Weather Service (NWS).

The weekly forecast for South Lake Tahoe from NWS Reno:

Monday - A slight chance of showers between 11am and 2pm, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 82. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Monday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 46. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

Tuesday - Sunny, with a high near 83. Light southwest wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night- Mostly clear, with a low around 45. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Wednesday - Sunny, with a high near 82.

Wednesday Night - Mostly clear, with a low of around 41.

Thursday - Sunny, with a high near 84.

Thursday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 44.

Friday - Sunny, with a high near 87.

Friday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 46.

Saturday - Sunny, with a high near 89.
