Mudslide west of Strawberry

6:10PM UPDATE: No lanes are currently blocked according to CHP, "all lanes opened."

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A mudslide about 100 feet wide and three inches deep has crossed over US50 west of Strawberry. Along with the mud, branches, and other debris also in the slide.

As of 4:45 p.m., Caltrans is sending equipment to clear the mud from Placerville with an estimated time of their arrival in one hour.

Caltrans signage is warning people to not go through the mud and traffic is backing up.

Afternoon thunderstorms over the Sierra brought isolated showers and a Flash Flood Warning had been issued for the area.
