Ice machine returned to the American Legion in South Lake Tahoe

8:30AM UPDATE: Someone thinking the ice machine was junk left outside took it. but has returned the ice machine.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Thieves visited the American Legion Post 795 on Wednesday, stealing their commercial ice machine between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

The Manitowoc ice machine is heavy, and is stainless steel with a large black hood cover. It had been placed behind the legion building at 2748 Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe.

To replace the machine is costly for the group, a local veterans service organization that raises funds to keep running by hosting weddings and parties, and running a bar, all of which need the ice machine.

They will be in need of large amounts of ice this weekend if the machine is not returned.

Anyone with information can call the South Lake Tahoe Police Department at 530.542.6100 and refer to case #2107-2635.
