Cable Fire at 20 acres, 100% contained

UPDATE 7 p.m. 7/28; The Cable fire is 100 percent contained and remains at 20 acres in size. The fire will remain in patrol status for several more days to ensure no new smokes develop within the perimeter of the fire.
UPDATE 9 a.m. 7/28: Firefighters continue to gain ground on containment of the Cable fire which is now 90 percent contained. Crews are patrolling for hot spots and smoke within the fire perimeter and improving control lines. There are 28 people, and 2 engines assigned to the fire which is 20 acres in size.
The human-caused fire is under investigation.
UPDATE 7 p.m. 7/27: Firefighters made great progress on containment today. The fire is now 80 percent contained. Firefighters will remain on the scene throughout the night strengthening containment lines and mopping up hot spots within the perimeter of the fire. The fire, which is human-caused, is 20 acres in size. They expect full containment on Thursday.
UPDATE 8 a.m. 7/27: Firefighters made excellent progress on the Cable Fire overnight. Lower temperatures and increased humidity helped crews to hold containment lines. Today, firefighters will continue to improve and secure containment lines while mopping up hot spots within the perimeter of the fire. The final acreage was mapped at 20 acres. CalFIRE AEU reported the fire is 35 percent contained.
UPDATE 9:30 p.m.: PG&E has restored all power to the affected area, all evacuations have been lifted and all roads are being reopened. The Placerville Library has been deactivated as a temporary evacuation center.
UPDATE 7 p.m.: The Cable Fire that started earlier today is 21 acres in size and 5 percent contained. Firefighters are making good progress on the fire. Fire crews have made access and are establishing containment lines. Firefighters will be working throughout the night strengthening control lines and mopping up hot spots.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and started in vegetation on Cable Road in Camino.
Homes on Badger Hill Road, Old Blair Mill Road, and Mace Mot Hill Road have been evacuated and the roads closed along with Cable Road at Mace Road.
US Forest Service, El Dorado Fire Protection District, Cameron Park Fire Department, El Dorado Hill Fire Department, Diamond Springs-El Dorado Fire Protection District, Rescue Fire Departement, Pioneer Fire Protection District, and El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office are all assigned to the fire.
There has been one firefighter injury.
