Chance of rain mid-week in South Lake Tahoe before things heat up again

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Warm and dry weather with typical afternoon breezes will prevail through Monday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno. Moisture returns for the first few days of August,
bringing chances for mainly afternoon showers and thunderstorms, especially by Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures will also cool by a few degrees by mid-late week, before warming up again next weekend.

The weekly South Lake Tahoe forecast from NWS Reno:

Monday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph increasing to 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon.

Monday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 46. Southwest wind 5 to 15 mph becoming southeast in the evening.

Tuesday - Partly sunny, with a high near 81. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night - Mostly cloudy, with a low of around 48. West wind 5 to 10 mph.

Wednesday - A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 77. West wind 5 to 10 mph.

Wednesday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 45.

Thursday - Sunny, with a high near 77.

Thursday Night - Mostly clear, with a low of around 42.

Friday - Sunny, with a high near 79.
