“It was a great pleasure to be able to assist in feeding those in need in our community,” shared Charvel Garibaldi, a human resources generalist at Bally’s Lake Tahoe Resort. “We greatly appreciate this opportunity and look forward to sponsoring more Bread & Broth Adopt A Day of Nourishments in the future.”
Joining Charvel on Monday, August 1 were fellow Bally’s crew members Mindy Bobadilla, HR representative; Martha Cortes, games dealer; and Michael Porter-Melton, security supervisor.
After 24 months of providing bags of food in lieu of meals due to the pandemic, Bread & Broth resumed its weekly Monday Meal in April of 2022 and the “Adopt a Day of Nourishment” (AAD) program in June. Bally’s was one of the very first former AAD sponsors to indicate their interest in once again partnering with B&B to host a weekly full-course, hot dinner.
It was the first time for this group of Bally’s sponsor crew members to be an Adopt A Day volunteer. They did a great job setting up the dessert and drink table; and when the doors opened at 4 p.m. to the dinner guests, they all warmly greeted and served the 94 individuals tasty taco boats, refried beans, and sweet watermelon slices. They ended the evening helping the B&B volunteers with the dinner’s take down and cleanup. They could not have been a more enthusiastic group of volunteers.
Bread & Broth looks forward to Bally’s next AAD sponsorship on November 14 and would also like to acknowledge and thank Bally’s for their ongoing support in providing cookies and other food dishes over the past years to support B&B events in our efforts to ease community hunger.
