Highs near 80 all week in South Lake Tahoe; Slight chance of showers and thunderstorms mid-week

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A much drier pattern returns through Thursday with near-seasonable summer-like temperatures. A pattern change looks to favor a period of showers and thunderstorms later next week into next
weekend, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno.

The chance of showers coming from Tropical Storm Eugene which is projected to continue to spinning northwest south and west of the Baja California before briefly stalling mid-week in the Eastern Pacific. Eugene’s remnants

will eventually find a path around the western fringe of the upper ridge into the broad area of low-pressure loitering offshore the western US.

The South Lake Tahoe forecast from NWS Reno:

Monday - Sunny, with a high near 82. Light and variable wind becoming westerly at 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Monday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 48. West wind 5 to 15 mph.

Tuesday - Sunny, with a high near 81. Light southwest wind becoming west at 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night - Mostly clear, with a low of around 47. West wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Wednesday - Sunny, with a high near 80. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Wednesday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 46.

Thursday - Sunny, with a high near 81.

Thursday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 49.

Friday - A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 81.

Friday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low of around 51.

Saturday - A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 82.
